About WMEA
The White Mountain Education Association (WMEA) was founded in 1982 by Rev. Joleen D. DuBois in Prescott, Arizona. It is one of the most active Agni Yoga study and teaching organizations in the United States, offering a broad program of classes, conferences, and publications rooted in the Living Ethics teachings transmitted through Helena and Nicholas Roerich.
WMEA carries forward the lineage of the Agni Yoga teachings, which Helena and Nicholas Roerich brought to the West in the early 1920s. Alongside the core Roerich texts, WMEA draws on the works of Torkom Saraydarian and the writings of its founder. The organization is incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and is sustained by its community of students and supporters.
Mission
WMEA's mission is to teach and disseminate the Agni Yoga teachings — also called the Teaching of Living Ethics — and the broader Ageless Wisdom tradition. It seeks to make these teachings practically accessible through structured education, community gathering, and outreach programs, serving both local students in Arizona and remote students worldwide.
